PLR
- Private Label Rights Articles
Private Label
Rights articles are content written by somebody else that
you can purchase the rights to use in most anyway you
want.
You can use
the articles "as is", edit them, put your name
on them - even combine them into one document and use
as material for an ebook or info product.
The Upsides
- Very cost
effective. Articles can often be purchased in bulk for
as little as .25 per article.
- Overall
quality is usually good.
- Articles
are usually written with search engine optimization
in mind.
- The niche
topics have been researched and are probably solid.
The Downsides
- Other people
own the rights too.
- Unless you
edit the articles, your content is duplicate content
and you'll be competiting with everyone else who bought
those articles for search engine placement.
- Without
significant editing, submission to article directories
is usually prohibited.
The
Duplicate Content Penalty Myth
My
observation is that when two sites have identical content
- duplicate content - the site with the higher Google
page rank is listed.
This
is not an opinion - it's something that I have proof of,
but the source of my proof isn't something I am going
to share.
You
and I can have IDENTICAL pages - not just identical content
- but identical everything. I can be the source site -
but if you have higher page rank, your domain will be
listed.
You will not
be deindexed, sent to jail - or even "penalized"
for duplicate content. You just won't have that page of
your site appear in the search listings if another site
has the same content and a higher page rank.
I recommend
that you consider PLR after you have your first five original
pages created, your site indexed, and some potential page
rank on the way (that takes some time).
Still, do be
on the lookout for quality content that fits your site.
Putting it on your site from day one won't hurt a thing.
